We bring you a hefty slab of marbled Coltson Bassett Stilton; one of the best, still hand made in Nottingham and punching those taste buds with its sweet and salty notes… and then its perfect partner, these guys met long before Tinder, and it shows.  The sweetness to the tart; a bottle of L.B.V. Port 2014 by Niepoort.  This is the stuff! Beautiful deep ruby violet coloured with hints of peppery spice, cherry and dark chocolate on the nose. On the palate, full-bodied with firm tannins whilst still elegant and smooth. This combination is guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone’s lips.

The perfect vehicle to steer this crumbly Stilton where its needed? We’ve have added a delicious box of  Fionagh’s Sourdough Crackers and round it all off with our complementary ‘L’affinage Fig & Pinot Noir Chutney’. Light the fire, dim the lights, don the slippers and relax.

L.B.V. Port 2018 by Niepoort

With a wonderfully concentrated ruby hue, this Port shows intense aromas of fruits of the forest, spice and dark chocolate, accompanied by a subtle floral undertone, making this an overall elegant and deeply expressive wine. The palate is fresh and seductive, with good texture and body. Superbly smooth tannins and a lively acidity provide a long, firm and vinous finish. As this is a traditional unfiltered LBV, it is definitely suitable for further cellaring.

Fionagh's 'Original' Sourdough Crackers

Each batch is handmade using their own sourdough mother which is specifically fed and fermented to create the perfect punch and crunch. The mother is mixed with the finest rye flour, rapeseed oil and a little sea salt to achieve the perfect texture and taste. It's then rolled and sprinkled with rye before baking.

Baked until crisp and golden, they are the natural choice for smoked salmon, cheese or pâté.
