J. Rochioli Vineyards and Winery is a Californian estate based in Fenton Acres in the Russian River Valley. The 57 hectare (140 acre) estate produces terroir-driven wines with a minimal intervention approach. Each vineyard block is fermented separately to emphasise the unique terroirs that typify the estate.
This Rochioli wine is well made and stored in about the most perfect cellar conditions available in Europe, bar none. The wines of Henri Hayer stored in this cellar, one of the most famous winemakers of the 20th Century, have a 10% world premium, due to its quality. It’s cold, damp, dark, and consistent, under the level of the North Sea, with metre thick granite walls, on the Firth of Forth.
