With a wonderfully concentrated ruby hue, this wine shows intense aromas of fruits of the forest, spice and dark chocolate, accompanied by a subtle floral undertone, making this an overall elegant and deeply expressive wine. The palate is fresh and seductive, with good texture and body. Superbly smooth tannins and a lively acidity provide a long, firm and vinous finish. As this is a traditional unfiltered LBV, it is definitely suitable for further cellaring.

This ‘orange’ fortified sweet wine is from Dirk Niepoort, produced with one of the greatest wine varieties in the world. Aged for around 10 years before bottling its full bodied and dare we say rather delicious. Notes of golden raisin, brown sugar and a hint of prunes.
