Tasting notes:

I have to confess I really do love Anita and Phil who make this cheese (and Fosseway Fleece).  Many speak of ‘terroir’ (which is important) but who are we kidding?  A good old dose of ‘loveliness’ is also required and these two have it in bucketsful to create their mouth-wateringly amazing cheese.  Anita loves her dogs (Phil doesn’t) but they both share a love of horse racing and are lucky enough to have the famous Nichols Yard just a stone’s throw from their dairy.  Collecting this cheese, I can easily spend an hour chatting and soaking up the dairy’s beautiful surroundings.

Pennard Ridge goats cheese develops a good flavour within four weeks and so can be eaten young.

It takes its name from the geographical ridge on which the dairy sits, with wonderful views all around.
