Borettane Onions in Balsamic Vinegar
Borettane onions preserved in Balsamic vinegar for a beautiful blend of sweetness and acidity. The Borettane is a mild, sweet Italian pearl onion that is flat, almost saucer-like in shape. They are harvested, then washed, peeled and quickly blanched, before being stored in Balsamic vinegar of Modena (PGI) to imbue its sweetly acidic flavour into the onion until it takes on a softer texture. Serve sliced in salads or as a show-stopping antipasti.
